The Indian  vessel INDIAN PROGRESS is seen at D Shed in the Kings Dock on 12th September 1987 .Indian general cargo vessels were frequent and regular visitors to Swansea at this time to collect Steel Coils and Tinplate from steelworks at Margam,Trostre and Velindre, plus mixed general cargo. Many vessels now carry their own cranes to handle cargo so the forest of dockside cranes has now been reduced to two, with  mobile cranes being frequently called in when required.
